The short version

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Click a product link here and buy within a set window, and the retailer pays us a small percentage. The cost to you does not change. The price is the same as going to the retailer directly.

Running this site takes time and money. Research, writing, verification, hosting, and software all cost something.

Affiliate commissions cover that without a paywall or pages full of ads. Everything on CropFarming.net stays free to read.

What a commission does not buy

This is the part that matters.

No company pays us for coverage. Nobody can buy a mention, a rating, or a position in a list. We choose what to cover based on what growers are trying to decide.

Commission rates do not affect our picks. A product that pays more is not recommended more. Where two fit the same job, we name the one the documentation and owner feedback support.

We publish drawbacks. Every product write-up names honest weaknesses, not decorative ones. A real problem goes in the article, link or no link.

No advertiser sees an article before it publishes. Nobody outside the editorial team reviews or approves what we write.

We do not test products

This is worth stating plainly, because many sites imply otherwise.

CropFarming.net does not buy, use, or field-test the equipment we write about. No test plot, no workshop, no long-term trial sits behind these guides.

What we do instead:

  • Read manufacturer documentation, operator manuals, and published specifications
  • Read the actual product listing details rather than copying other review sites
  • Look for patterns across verified buyer feedback, especially on durability and usability
  • Say which of those a claim came from

When an article says owners consistently report something, that is what it means. It is not our own experience, and we never present it as one.

If you want hands-on testing, sites that genuinely do it exist and are worth your time. We are not one of them, and we would rather say so.

How we choose which products to cover

A product gets into a guide when we can document why it fits a particular job.

We start from the decision a grower is actually making. A moisture meter for a quarter acre raised bed is a different problem from one for twenty acres under pivot. The guide answers that first, then names products that suit each answer.

Products with thin documentation or little buyer feedback do not get covered. There is nothing solid to say about them.

Affiliate links appear in equipment and input guides. They also appear inside a crop guide when a specific tool matters to the step being described.

Most pages carry no affiliate links at all. Crop guides, growing practice articles, and reference pages answer a question. They do not sell anything.

About prices

We do not publish prices.

Retail prices change constantly. A number written into an article is wrong within weeks. Any price you see comes from the retailer when you click, not from us.
